Hello again Dear Readers!
I hope you have had a chance to read my new short story, Take Me, available here on the website under "Free Reads". It's the first of some stories inspired by photographs. Although I do use Pinterest boards as rudimentary story boards, visual aids for the appearance of characters, settings and so on, Take Me was the first story to be inspired by a photograph. The photo is pinned on the Take Me board on Pinterest and is of the actor Jamie Dornan. I have been a fan of Mr. Dornan for a while (certainly before his appearance in that film) and have always been awed by his ability to emote. It was more than evident in his modelling days and of course continues with his acting. He has the most intriguing and intense eyes and as I looked at the photo the story started to take shape. I do hope you read it and enjoy it.
On a similar theme, fellow author Katalina Leon recently began posting photos of handsome men on Facebook with the question "what does this photo say to you?" Perhaps because of the just-finished short story, I immediately wrote down blurbs, the rough beginnings of stories really, for the photos. Katalina and several others have encouraged me to fully flesh out those ideas and write the whole story. I find this a very intriguing idea and so I have started to do just that. I'm still not certain if these will be stand-alone novellas or a collection of short stories. I suppose we will all see when they are completed. The tentative title for the collection is There He Sat which is a bit of an inside joke with my fellow Facebookers as three of the four photos posted so far feature the men sitting down. I am excited about these stories as they will be told from each male protagonists' viewpoint, hopefully lending very different voices to each even as they will share a similar theme.
The photos and the blurbs I posted on them are here on the site under the "Coming Soon" section. As always I welcome any feedback any of you may have on this project or on any of my titles.
Take care and happy reading!
